Baseball Player Magazine is proud to name David Hawley of South Side High School to BPM's 2012 Top 100 Underclassmen.
David, who lives in Rockville Centre and graduates in 2013, is one of Long Island's top overall centerfielders. He broke the school record for putouts in a season during his sophomore year.
Hawley is also a superior offensive catalyst, hitting over .300 as a sophomore and leading his team in steals.
"This is the top centerfielder on Long Island or at least that I've seen. He can track it with anyone and he is one of the grittiest kids out there," says his longtime travel coach and family friend Tom Steigerwald.
David and his parents Clyde and Beth are very proud that David was named Honorable Mention to the Pre-Season All American team by Perfect Game.
Baseball Player Magazine will be following David's career and will check back in on him soon. We wish David the very best of luck.
