Game 1 - Whalers 8 - Hurricanes 1
The Whalers offense exploded early, scoring in each of the first five innings. Although they had twelve hits and eight runs, the real star for the Whalers was James Callahan (St. Thomas Aquinas) who threw a complete game, allowing just one run, four hits, and no walks. Callahan managed to do all this while throwing just 68 pitches. The Whalers also had three players with multi-hit games, including Kevin Podell (Molloy) and Lukas Pracher (Davidson). Pracher had two hits and drove in a run, while Podell had a monster day, picking up three hits and drove in three as well. Although the Hurricanes had just four hits, Manny Esposito (Mercy) had a solid game where he laced two of them.
