Game 1 - Cardinals 7 – Tribe 6
Nicholas Lobello (Queens College) went 3-for-3 with a double, and RBI, and two runs scored, and Robert Vani (Adelphi) drove in three runs as the Cardinals held on to defeat the Tribe in the first game of Saturday’s double-header. The Cards pounded out eleven hits and jumped out to a 7-2 lead. Mike Dolce (Farmingdale State) went five innings and gave up one hit, five walks, and three earned runs as he picked up the win. In a tense bottom of the seventh, the Tribe rallied for three runs against Alex Weingarten (Farmingdale State), which was highlighted by RBI hits from Ed Tammaro (New Haven) and Ricky Alessi (LIU Post). However, the comeback fell short when Alessi was caught trying to steal second, and Ken Daley (LIU Post) struck out.

Winning Pitcher – Cardinals – Mike Dolce (3-0)

Game 2 - Tribe 8 – Cardinals 1
The Tribe responded with a strong outing by Will Hickey (Virginia Wesleyan) in the second game of Saturday’s double-header. Hickey tossed a complete game, two-hitter, and struck out three batters. It was a sloppy game for the Cardinals, as they committed seven errors in the field, which led to five unearned runs. Bobby Kollmer (Hofstra) picked up a pair of hits and drove in three runs, including two on a double in the top of the seventh inning to break the game open.

Winning Pitcher – Tribe – Will Hickey (1-1)
Losing Pitcher – Cardinals – Vincent Caputo (0-1)
