The Bethpage Eagles 7U team 2014 summer team is a very promising group of players. Six players on the team played in the spring season and gained valuable experience that will help them lead a talented group of younger players in the summer season. Jake Patlias’s rocket arm will anchor the pitching staff as well as hit leadoff and provide superb defense and leadership. The pitching of Ian Enright will be a big asset to the team. Enright, due to physical challenges he has faced, will also provide an example for his teammates. James Mertz provides a steady glove to go along with his baseball instincts. Chris Connors’ “never say die” style of play along with Anthony Pakakis’ big bat will help the Eagles during the many games of the 2014 summer season. Vito Lonardo is the “ultimate teammate” and will be an example for the younger players.
Head coach Chris Patlias will teach the newcomers how to play “Eagle baseball” along with the other coaches. Among the new players are Anthony Guarasci who is valuable on the mound and at the plate, fire baller and third baseman Matthew Pilgrim and catcher Nick Morolla who is quick as a cat behind the plate.
Jack Lapertosa’s quick lefty bat along with William Lynn’s smart approach at the plate and Michael Macholz’s all-around game provide Coach Patlias with a versatile lineup that is helping the Bethpage Eagles win many games in a tough 7U division in the 2014 summer season.
