2014 Long Island Whalers 12u
The Hot Stove League is a new baseball league on Long Island. This is a team that plays in the league this summer.
The Long Island Whalers 12u (Ledbetter) team has played together for two years under the Whalers banner. They were the youngest team the Whalers had at that time. The original group included Matt Bertone, Anthony Bosco, Billy Collins, Jack Cox, Brian Cullen, Andrew Ledbetter, Jason Mora, Cooper Sanquini and Kevin Zuckerberg. This past spring they added Justin Briganti, Michael Iraggi, Noah Lichaa, and Aneudy Nunez to their ranks. The coaches include Greg Ledbetter, Steve Sanquini and Jeff Cox.
The boys play together as a strong cohesive unit with each member providing integral parts.
Matt‘s primary position is pitcher but he is a red hot shortstop as well.
Anthony’s primary position is first base, but his calm demeanor can also be seen on the mound facing down batters.
Billy’s methodical approach has led him to be a great outfield tracker.
Jack’s thoughtful analysis gives him a great insight on runners and allows him to play the infield like a pro.
Brian is a pitcher and third baseman and keeps our corner safe.
Andrew is primarily a catcher but provides strong support in pitching and infield with a bat that can’t be beat.
Jason is a hot bat with quick feet on the bases.
Cooper is solid as a catcher and centerfielder playing the two extremes perfectly.
Kevin’s quick wit keeps the team up while his pitching sets the other teams down.
Justin shows that big things come in small packages.
Michael has brought a big bat to the team and his plays in the outfield are ever improving.
Noah is full of energy and plays a mean second base.
Aneudy is their explosive lefty on the mound as well as their first baseman.
