The Long Island Whalers 11U comes out on top in an epic battle with The Massapequa Tribe At Baseball Heaven Memorial Day Championships.

Long Island Whalers 11U took the last of nine lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against Massapequa Tribe, securing a 7-6 victory on Monday at BBH - championship.

Long Island Whalers 11U pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. Long Island Whalers 11U went up for good on an RBI single by Nick Farnacci, bringing home Zach S.

Quintin Vizza was solid at the plate for Long Island Whalers 11U. Qunitin went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and tied the game up with a leadoff homerun in the eighth inning.

The top of the first saw Massapequa Tribe take an early lead, 1-0. The Massapequa Tribe attack began with a single from Downing. A groundout by Reece then moved Downing from first to second. He then scored on a base hit from Stang.

Long Island Whalers 11U survived Massapequa Tribe's surge and put up one run of its own in the first. Long Island Whalers 11U scored on an RBI single by Sean Keys.

Long Island Whalers 11U got two-run rallies in the third inning and the eighth. In the third, Long Island Whalers 11U scored on a two-run single by Ryan Banks, scoring Dylan Perry and Sean Milletti. They would then tie the game after Noel Batista walked in the fourth, stole 2b, 3b and then scored on an attempted steal of home.

Massapequa Tribe brought home one run in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the eighth. In the fifth, Massapequa Tribe scored on a fielder's choice, scoring Franco.

The Whalers entered the bottom of the eighth down a run but Quintin Vizza would tie it up with a leadoff homerun. With the game tied Zach Schnabel singled, Joe Flannigan would walk and Dylan Perry would sacrifice them into scoring position. The last blow was delivered by Nicholas Farnacci driving home the winning run with a base hit to right.

A truly amazing game to watch between two of the top teams on Long Island.
